What is a prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA) as a specialist in restoring and replacing teeth. After completing four years of dental school, a prosthodontist receives three additional years of specialized, ADA-accredited training in restoring smiles through the use of bridges, dental implants, veneers, dentures, and other therapies.

What's the difference between a cosmetic dentist and Dr.Sanker?

The American Dental Association recognizes nine dental specialties, and the ADA does not include "cosmetic dentistry" as a specialty. Prosthodontists receive extensive training and experience in dental esthetics and cosmetics during their graduate programs which currently lasts three years. Many "cosmetic dentists" receive training during seminars or a series of courses, but this training is usually limited to weekend or possibly week-long courses.

Will you accept my insurance?

Due the complex nature of most dental procedures and the cost of high quality dental materials, it is prohibitive for Dr.Sanker to participate in most insurance networks. Most of our patients choose an insurance plan which allows the freedom to seek treatment with specialists and out-of-network doctors. Your insurance benefits are very important to us and we will make every effort to assist you in filing your claims. In some cases, a written narrative by Dr.Sanker is helpful in obtaining your benefits.

What payment methods do you accept?

For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Please see their website for details.

My teeth are stained. Can you help?

Yes. We offer whitening solutions to brighten teeth dramatically at home or in our office. Call today for an appointment.

I only need one veneer. How can you match the color of my existing teeth?

We use a computerized shade matching system to create dental restorations that blend seamlessly with your existing smile. Our state-of-the-art shade matching system analyzes your existing tooth color to provide a custom match for your new dental work. No one will notice your restorations or replacement teeth, just your bold, beautiful smile!

How do you screen for oral cancer?

We utilize a leading-edge tool, called a VELscope, to screen for oral cancer during your exam. VELscope uses light to identify abnormal cells at an earlier stage that may warrant additional investigation. The earlier we locate suspicious lesions, the quicker we can address them with conservative treatment options.

What is a digital x-ray, and how is it different from traditional X-rays?

When compared to traditional radiography, digital X-rays emit 80-percent less radiation. Detailed images are immediately available for viewing and can be easily transferred via the Internet to insurance companies and specialists. Digital X-rays require no hazardous developing chemicals, so they're earth friendly!
